It is least happy where most rentals spend their time — the Marina and Downtown crawl, and multi-storey car parks, where the low nose scrapes ramps. Keep an eye on the limits: enforcement is strict and the cameras are everywhere, so the biggest risk to your trip is a fine, not the car.

Confirm which body and trim you are getting — the GTB, Spider and Pista differ sharply in price and character — along with the model year. Get the deposit amount and how it is held, and the mileage cap plus overage if you plan a real day of driving.
