What your result will say
Five possible answers, and what each one is actually telling you.
- High risk
Several travellers independently reported the same serious problem, and it is either unanswered or unresolved.
- Under investigation
A report passed verification and we are checking it. Nothing is proven, and the company has been asked to respond.
- Resolved
A report was substantiated and the company put it right. It stays on the record, because the record is the point.
- Not substantiated
A report was made and checked, and the evidence did not support it. Published so the company is not quietly tarnished.
- Not on the watchlist
No published report names this company. That is not the same as vouching for it — check the licence and the terms yourself.
The one to read twice: “Not on the watchlist” means nobody has reported that company to us. It is not a safety rating, and we will never present it as one. Check the trade licence and the written terms yourself before you pay.
What a search matches on
Companies that rename themselves are the reason this is more than a name lookup.
- Trading name
- Including the spellings and abbreviations companies use on invoices.
- Website and domain
- A new domain for an old name is one of the clearest signals there is.
- Phone and WhatsApp
- The number that answers is often the constant when a name changes.
- Trade licence
- Where the licence number is published, it is matched against the record.
