Where Do Yacht Charters Leave From in Dubai?

Your confirmation should name the berth, not just the marina — the Marina alone has several, and they are a twenty-minute walk apart.

What to Check Before You Pay a Deposit

  • The minimum charter

Most boats start at two hours, three on the bigger yachts. Ask what the hour includes before you compare two prices.

  • The guest limit

A boat licensed for twelve cannot take thirteen. The limit is set by the licence, not the operator.

  • What's on board

Fuel, crew, soft drinks and ice are usually included. Food, alcohol and watersports usually are not.

  • The licence

An operator needs the permits the boat requires to carry paying guests, and marine insurance. Ask to see both if the price looks unusually low.

Yacht Rental in Dubai: Prices, What's Included and When to Go

How yacht charter works in Dubai: what each type of trip costs, what the hourly rate covers, when a shared cruise beats a private boat, and the best months to go out.

1How much does yacht rental cost in Dubai?

Typical prices by type of trip. A private boat is priced per hour for the whole boat; a shared cruise is priced per person.

Market benchmarks, not quotes — every operator sets its own price. Confirm the total, the hours and what is included in writing before you pay a deposit.

2What does the hourly rate include?

  • A captain and at least one deckhand — Dubai has effectively no bareboat market, so the crew is part of the price.
  • Fuel for a normal cruising route, soft drinks, water and ice.
  • Not usually included: food, alcohol, watersports, decorations and any extra hour — each is quoted separately.
  • Ask whether a swimming stop is on the route and whether it counts towards your hours.

3Shared cruise or a private boat?

  • Two to six people: a shared seat costs a fraction of a private boat for the same two-hour loop.
  • Eight or more: a private boat often works out about the same per person, and you keep the deck and the route to yourselves.
  • Shared cruises run on a fixed schedule; a private charter leaves when you book it and can change the route.

4When is the best time to charter a yacht in Dubai?

  • October to May: cooler air and usually flat water — the main season.
  • June to September: book sunset or evening hours; midday on deck is very hot.
  • Weekends and public holidays fill first. The larger boats are booked months ahead for New Year's Eve and National Day.
  • Strong winds close the marina to small boats — ask in writing whether a cancelled trip is refunded or moved.

Yacht Rental in Dubai: FAQ

View all FAQs →

How much does it cost to rent a yacht in Dubai?

A shared sunset cruise costs about AED 150–250 per person. A private yacht of 40–55 ft is typically AED 600–1,100 an hour with crew and fuel, 55–75 ft about AED 1,100–2,200, and a superyacht of 80 ft and above from about AED 2,500 an hour. Prices rise at weekends and over New Year.

Is the crew included in the price?

On a crewed charter, yes — the captain and deckhand are part of the hourly rate, and there is no bareboat market to speak of in Dubai. Tipping is at your discretion.

Can we bring our own food and drink?

Most operators allow it and some charge a corkage or cleaning fee. Alcohol on board is at the operator's discretion and subject to UAE law; confirm it in writing before the day.

What happens if the weather turns?

Charters are cancelled or moved by the coastguard, not by the operator. Ask whether you get a refund or a reschedule, and get that answer before you pay the deposit.

Where do the boats leave from?

Dubai Marina and Dubai Harbour handle most charters, with Palm Jumeirah used for the larger yachts. Your booking confirmation should name the exact berth, not just the marina.

How far in advance should I book a yacht in Dubai?

A few days is usually enough for a weekday charter outside peak season. Book two to three weeks ahead for winter weekends, and months ahead for New Year's Eve and National Day.

What is the best time of year for a yacht trip in Dubai?

October to May, when the air is cooler and the sea usually calm. In summer, book sunset or evening hours to avoid the midday heat.
