Why a morning safari suits some trips better
The morning trip is the shortest and cheapest way into the dunes, and in summer it is the only comfortable one. You trade the camp, the dinner and the shows for cooler air and an afternoon still free.
Cooler by a wide margin
Pickup is around 07:00–08:00, so the driving happens before the heat builds. Between June and September that difference is the whole argument for going in the morning.
No dinner, no shows
Morning packages are dune driving plus one or two activities. If the camp entertainment is the part you want, this is the wrong trip.
Better for young children
Four hours in the morning suits small children far better than an eight-hour evening that ends near midnight.
The light is different
Photographers generally prefer the low morning light on the dunes to the harsher hours before sunset, and the sand is unmarked early.
