- You're staying somewhere the Metro doesn't reach — Palm Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Jumeirah, Arabian Ranches, the suburbs.
- You're here for a couple of weeks or more, where a monthly-style rate undercuts daily taxis.

3What a car actually costs versus taxis
An economy rental runs roughly AED 80–150 a day as a market benchmark, plus fuel (cheap here), Salik tolls at AED 4 a crossing, and paid public parking Monday to Saturday. Taxis have no standing cost but add up per trip: a short city hop is roughly AED 20–40, a longer cross-city ride AED 50–90.

4Getting around Dubai without a car
