No record of this —
it is not a clearance

Nobody has reported it to us, and we don't list it as an operator. That means we have nothing on it — not that it is safe. Check it yourself before you send any money.

Rental cars, a desert safari four-wheel drive and a charter yacht against the Dubai skyline

Checked privately. Anything you enter in the check is matched in your browser and sent nowhere.

Check it yourself before you pay

We have nothing on this one, so the checking is yours. Three things to do before any money moves.

Check the licence yourself

Ask the company for its trade licence number and check it with the economic department of the emirate it says it is licensed in — in Dubai, the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), still often called the DED. Make sure the name, the activity and the expiry date on the licence match the company you are dealing with.

Car rental, airport transfers and other transport are also regulated by the RTA in Dubai, so ask for the RTA permit too.

UAE red flags

Any one of these is a reason to stop and check. Several together is a reason to walk away.

  • Asks for a bank transfer, crypto or Western Union

A card payment can be disputed. These cannot easily be pulled back.

  • A price far below market

If it is much cheaper than everyone else, something is being left out of the price.

Work out the real all-in cost
  • No licence shown, or a name that doesn't match

They won't show a trade licence, or the name on it is not the name you are dealing with.

  • A deposit demanded before you see the car

Pressure to pay up front, before you have seen the vehicle or the contract.

  • A brand-new website or Instagram with no history

A recent account, few real photos and no reviews you can trace back to real customers.

  • Refuses a signed contract

Won't put the price, the deposit and the terms in writing before you pay.

Pay by card, never cash or bank transfer

A card payment is the one you can most easily dispute with your bank if the car, the tour or the boat never turns up, or isn't what was described. Cash and bank transfers are the hardest to get back.
